Some of the biggest headlines in the week of April 15th to 21st came from the Southern Cone sub-region. The USD 100m investment in Argentina’s 360Energy by Stellantis, and Satellogic’s USD 30m raise were some of the biggest deals of the week. Chile closed the news from the south with Toku’s USD 9.3m Series A.

In funding rounds, Brazilian startups Turbi and BrandLovrs raised rounds of USD 8.5m and USD 6.6m, respectively. In Ecuador, Kamina raised the country’s largest ever Seed round (USD 3.2m), and in Colombia, OnePay raised a USD 1.3m Pre-Seed round. There were several other smaller rounds (EUR 1m or less) in Spain and Mexico.
In other news, Alantra’s climate fund Klima led the EUR 52m Series C of GridBeyond, an Irish startup, and BBVA Spark expanded its financing commitments to Tuhabi in Mexico, from USD 21m to USD 48m.

Gijón-based industrial software startup Autecnia raised EUR 550k from Sociedad Regional de Promoción de Asturias to finance the company’s expansion in Spain and Portugal. (Europa Press)
Barcelona-based Healthtech Emily.AI raised a EUR 480k in a round led by BStartup (Banco Sabadell’s VC arm) and the participation of business angels. The funds will be used to expand the team and prepare the launch of its first device. (Web Capital Riesgo)
Ibiza-based organic sunscreen startup Sol de Ibiza raised EUR 370k from La Bolsa Social. The company will use the money to develop new products, strengthen the brand and launch its products in Amazon US. (El Referente)

São Paulo-based car rental startup Turbi raised a USD 8.5m round led by Domo.vc to create a on-stop car shop for their customers. (Latam List)
São-Paulo-based marketing startup BrandLovrs raised a USD 6.6m round led by Kaszek, to enhance its algorithm and develop new financial services for customers. (Latam List)

BBVA Spark expands its financing commitment with Tuhabi from USD 21m to USD 48m. The funds will be destined to improve its technological assets and expand its portfolio of services in Mexico. (Contxto)
San Francisco-based Mexican startup Serpa Cloud raised USD 1m in a round led by Connetic-Ventures to expand and develop its platform helping apps to improve performance. (Startups Latam)
Mexico City-based data startup Crezes raised a USD 750k Pre-Seed round led by Maya Capital. The funds will allow the company to further develop their platform. (Contxto)

Quito-based Fintech Kamina raised a USD 3.2m Pre-Seed round. The funds will allow the company to launch its AI financial prevention platform. (Startups Latam)
Bogotá-based Fintech OnePay raised a USD 1.3m Pre-Seed round from angel investors, to enhance its payment integration platform on Whatsapp. (Latam List)

Dutch car manufacturer Stellantis acquired a 49.5% stake in Buenos Aires-based photovoltaic panels startup 360Energy for USD 100m. (Energy Box)
Montevideo-based Spacetech company Satellogic, traded in Nasdaq, raised USD 30m in convertible notes from Tether Investments to support the company’s US expansion strategy. (Space Daily)
Santiago-based Fintech Toku raised a USD 9.3m Series A led by Gradient Ventures. The funds will support the consolidation of the company’s business in Chile and Mexico, as well as its landing in Brazil. (Latam Fintech Hub)
