On the week from June 10th to 16th, the most important deals happened in Brazil - Mombak’s USD 200m debt facility - and Spain - Cabify’s EUR 20m capital increase. Other large rounds were raised by Spain’s Badi (EUR 7m), Danelfin (EUR 2m) and Leemons (EUR 1.62m), Portugal’s Stage (USD 2.4m), and Brazil’s Kovi (USD 8m) and Litipay (USD 1.4m).

As for M&A, several deals, all for undisclosed amounts, took place in the region: In Spain, Cobee was acquired by France’s Pluxee and Argilla was acquired by US’ Hugging Face. In Mexico, Finsus acquired Distrito Pyme, while Colombia’s Tul merged with Brazil’s Sooper.

Iberia
🇪🇸 Cabify announced a EUR 20m capital increase. The operation has been covered by Orilla Asset Management, Mutua Madrileña Ventures y Rakuten Capital, and it doesn’t count with some relevant partners from past rounds such as Rosaura Varo and Seaya Ventures. (Web Capital Riesgo)
🇪🇸 Badi raised EUR 7m in debt and equity from Barlon Capital and Santander. The proptech startup wants to consolidate growth in its three verticals: Badi marketplace, Badi Plus and Badi Getaway. (El Economista)
🇵🇹 Stage raised USD 2.4m Seed round. The startup, that uses blockchain technology to improve the music listening experience, will use the funds to launch the platform and the $STAGE token on the BNB chain. (Business Insider)
🇪🇸 Danelfin raised a EUR 2m Venture round led by Nauta Capital. The startup uses AI to help retail investors select stocks, and plans to use the funding to support its growth plans, internationalisation, product development and operations. (EU-Startups)
🇪🇸 Leemons raised EUR 1.62m in an extension of its previous round. The extension allows Club Impact Angels and Pinama to enter the company’s cap table, and will allow the Edtech startup to launch its Leemons LXP platform. (Web Capital Riesgo)
🇪🇸 Cobee was acquired by France’s Pluxee, and Argilla was acquired by United States’ Hugging Face, both deals for an undisclosed amount. (FinSMEs, PYMNTS)
Brasil
🇧🇷 Mombak raised USD 200m in debt from the World Bank. The climatetech startup will invest the money in the acquisition of land and reforestation, with the goal of generating 2 million tons of carbon credits. (Tekios)
🇧🇷 Kovi raised USD 8m in debt. (SEC Filing)
🇧🇷 Litipay raised USD 1.4m round from SRM Ventures. The legaltech startup works in the receivables anticipation space, and will use the funds to acquire credits of judged and settled lawsuits. (Latam List)
🇧🇷 a55 raised an investment from Paysecure for an undisclosed amount. The deal is a part of Paysecure’s global expansion strategy, with the aim to solidify its presence in Latam (specially Brazil, Mexico) through its stake in a55. (Startups.com.br)
México, Centroamérica y Caribe
🇲🇽 Finsus acquired Distrito Pyme for an undisclosed amount. The operation will allow Finsus to pre-approve credits using a new platform, to be called Crédito Digital Pyme. (Tecnoempresa)
Andes
🇨🇴 Tul merged with Brazil’s Sooper. The operation will strengthen the position of the resulting entity in Colombia, Mexico and Brazil. Tul’s founder will remain as CEO, while Sooper’s CEO will take on the role of Brazil’s country manager. (Startups Latam)
Cono Sur
🇨🇱 Shinkansen receives investment from Peru’s Krealo for an undisclosed amount. It’s the first investment of 2024 by Credicorp’s CVC arm, and will allow the B2B payments startup to continue its growth path. (Latam Fintech)
🇨🇱 Corfo announced a scaling program for startups with internationalisation potential. The program will be open to innovative entrepreneurs from Chile, and includes co-financing of up to USD 60m. (Tekios)
